Here is my final draft for my audition project.

Idea and Inspiration

I decided to create a story of me explaining my experience with fashion and what is means to me. I decided to do this because my blog is all about fashion and I wanted to create something that would tell my audience a little bit more about my thoughts in regards to fashion.

Design Process

I have listen to many podcasts from fashion bloggers that I follow, and some of them have episodes where they tell fashion stories or talk about what fashion means to them. This gave me the idea to share my own story. 
I decided to add some upbeat music to my story to keep the energy positive and make the story have a nice flow to it. To design my audio, I first collected my narration audio as well as the music I wanted to use. I uploaded them both to sound cloud. There were a few flaws in my narration such as when I stumbled with the words “I also love that fashion is unique for everyone” and said the sentence twice. I used the razor tool to cut out my stumbling of words and put the audio back together so that it flowed seamlessly. I used the fade in and fade out tools on the music so that the music faded in before I started speaking, and faded out once i was done speaking. I also adjusted the volume of the music so it was louder at the beginning and was faint in the background while I was telling my story. I changed these adjustments quite a few times until I thought it sound good and my music and narration flowed nicely together. 

Technical Detail

I learned a lot from the tutorials I did for this course such as vox pop, editing an interview, and cutting and re-arranging sounds. I incorporated these skills in my rough draft. I recored myself telling a story on my phone and then uploaded it to my computer to use in Adobe Audition. For the music I used, I found it at http://freemusicarchive.org/ which is free and licensed. I did have a few challenges using the Adobe software because I had no prior experience. When I made an accidental cut or change to a sound, I had a hard time with undoing that error without having to restart my project. I found that with practice, I was able to learn tips and tricks and was able to undo errors more seamlessly with the move tool.

Final Revisions

I decided to revise my original audition. In order to do so, I used the razor tool to cut out a few bits and pieces such as when I take a long breath, or there was an unnecessary break or pause. I also decided to add a section at the beginning in order to say “what does fashion mean to you?” in order to get my audience thinking and know what direction my story is going in. I did this followed by the advice of one of my colleague’s to add another clip to my audition.
