Idea and Inspiration
For my project, I decided to create a summer fashion ideas video where I style two different outfits. This relates to my blog as my blog is all about fashion. I got this ideas because I follow a lot of fashion bloggers/vlogers and I have seen them post videos of their fashion ideas. I decided to keep my video short and simple to meet the time limit/maximum. I just did two summer outfits.
I first started my project my filming two separate clips, one of my first summer fashion idea and one of my second. Once I was finished, I uploaded my videos to premiere. While in premiere, I realized that the second video was filmed horizontally instead of vertically so I re-filmed the video so that it was in the correct format. I added some music to go along with my clips from a free and licensed source. I turned the volume of the music down a bit so that you could hear my voice clearly over it. I also added two titles; the first one appears at the beginning of my project which reads “summer fashion ideas”. The next one appears at the end of my project which reads “filmed and edited by Talley Minich”. I also used the razor tool to cut out a few parts where I coughed or there was an extended pause. These titles help transition my video and let the audience know important information.

For my final draft, I utilized the the help of my classmates. Some of their suggestions were to change the color of the font as it was hard to read against the background, and also that the ending of my video ended too abruptly. Accordingly. I changed my font color to white to make it stand out more. I also added a picture of myself wearing one of the outfits I styled after the end of my video to give my audience a visual, as well as add an ending to my video. I added text that reads “Thanks for watching!”. I also changed the scale of the photo so that it fit the full screen. I also changed the position so that you could see my entire outfit. I also adjusted the sound of my voice so you could hear it more clearly.
Overall, I learned a lot by utilizing Adobe Premiere and well definitely be using this software in the future. There were some challenges I encountered such as navigating the software in order to fin the effect I was looking for, but the tutorials I watched online really helped me by showing me tricks and tips.
